Early Fall Start presentation

August 2017

For Early Fall Start, I took a class called Laws of Sex with professor Theo Myhre. One of our final projects was a group presentation on a “wicked problem” (an interdisciplinary, complex, and apparently unsolveable global dilemma) that we had identified during the class. My group presented on the topic of sexual assault on college campuses–covering everything from the influence of “hookup culture” to current preventative efforts. I really appreciated the opportunity to do a deep dive into an issue that is so immediately relevant to life as a young, female college student. Comparing different national approaches to solving the problem was really interesting and empowering, and I definitely came away from the presentation knowing more about the issue than before; though of course, we have yet to fix this wicked problem.
